Solo Exhibition "Three Eras, One Identity" at 18.213 Cairo - March 2016
INVITATION BY 18.213:
"THREE ERAS, ONE IDENTITY" is a unique spin on the concept of an "art show", combining an exhibit of Amal Akhnoukhs' powerful mosaic artwork with the launch of her "Mosaic My School" project with a local NGO, "Peace & Plenty" and students from a public school in the Ezbet Khairallah community.
Amal Akhnoukh is a mosaic artist and social entrepreneur that is fascinated with Egypt's rich cultural heritage and how it has been expressed through symbols, themes and motifs over the long course of its diverse history.
WHAT IS AMAL MOSAIC ART'S BIG VISION?
At its core, Amal Mosaic Art is about reaching out to underprivileged communities in Cairo and inspiring people to learn all about mosaic art and be part of beautifying their community in the process. She strongly believes that public art projects connect individuals to their community in a way that builds in them a strong sense of ownership and ultimately nurtures a spirit of teamwork and collaboration through art expression.
