Dahshur Mosaics Project Begins!

On the 1st of February 2017, my long awaited dream of starting a non-profit mosaic project has finally come to fruition :) Little did I know that it would end up in Dahshur, about an hour's drive from my home and in collaboration with a friend and mosaic artist Charlotte Sullivan, who lives there. We set up the workshop in her backyard, installed the hardies in their trunks, bought a wide range of marble rods and began teaching the village people of Dahshur. We started with the gateman and his wife and within a month had a group of 5 women, 5 men and 2 children all learning how to create mosaics using the ancient roman technique. To know more about our project and follow our activities, visit our Facebook and Instagram Pages. We hope to have a website out soon!
