This was my first formal workshop in a university setting amongst a room of 30 students! Invited by professor and dear friend Dr. Maher Dawoud, the workshop turned out extremely interactive and pure joy. It started out with a presentation on everything they needed to know about the contemporary mosaic world: beginning with the history, the tools, the materials, and the techniques used from the Roman times until our present day.
Due to the large number of students in the class, I was asked to simply create one small mosaic as a demonstration for them to see the process. However, I insisted on engaging them in this process, and we ended up crowding around this tiny piece of mosaic!
